COOTAMUNDRA KID is tender, young Kid goat which is farm-reared in natural pastures in the eastern Riverina of NSW, Australia, near Cootamundra. At Cootamundra Kid we supply only premium quality Boer goat kids which have been selectively breed over years from the best Boer goats. This means that we supply consistently high-quality kids specifically bred for fine dining and restaurant cuisine.

What is 'Kid'?

‘Kid’ meat is young goat meat less than 12 months in age. It is similar to lamb or veal but with a subtlety different flavor. Kid is sometimes referred to as Capretto or Chevon. Capretto is an Italian term for milk fed Kid (generally younger than 3-4 months) and Chevon refers to kid up to 12 months in age.

• Cootamundra Kids are farm reared in the natural pastures of the eastern Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia – midway between Sydney and Melbourne, just outside of the town of Cootamundra.
• Cootamundra is renowned for its high quality, mixed farming land, which produces premium agricultural products. In contrast to wild goats, our animals graze pastures in fenced paddocks and their health and condition is closely managed.
• Cootamundra Kids are 'free range' animals and are raised free of antibiotics, growth stimulants or hormones.
